Luke & Peter's wedding was the fun and emotional event I was expecting and it was lovely to see them finally married after a wait. The weather was great and after the ceremony at Derby Register Office we walked along the riverside for some relaxed images. We even stopped the traffic in the city centre for a fun "Beatles" inspired pedestrian crossing shot!
Abby & Lewis were the last of my postponed COVID-19 couples so it was especially memorable to finally photograph their wedding day. They chose the amazing West Mill Wedding venue which is a stunning location specifically arranged for all aspects of your wedding day. Despite very poor weather we were able to get some great images and even got outside later in the day for a couples walk by the weir.
Alfreton Hall is a great venue for a wedding and we were able to make great use of all the indoor and outdoor spaces to capture some lovely images for Rebecca & Adam.
Robbie & Helena had a small wedding at the Register Office in Coalville followed by a reception at The Beeches in Ashby. It was a lovely afternoon and we were able to get some fun shots despite the weather being so changeable!
The day started with Natalie's bridal prep (with ten bridesmaids!) before heading to Chaddesden Parish Church for a lovely wedding service and photos outside, despite the January weather. We then headed over to the wonderful Horsley Lodge and took advantage of the beautiful grounds.

A chilly day on the 30th December did not dampen spirits for Chris & Lou's great wedding day at this fabulous venue.
The day began with bridal preparation at a cosy venue in Melbourne followed by a dash to the church in the centre of Burton. St Modwen's is a beautiful church in the Market Square and an initial frost on the ground unfortunately turned to wet weather later in the day. Rhiannon & Ed are musicians and they integrated a fabulous music programme beautifully into the service - amazing! After some formal photos we moved again to the Assembly Rooms in Melbourne - a fabulous converted school building. After a delicious wedding breakfast provided by Butlers Pantry the evening continued with an energetic ceilidh hosted by Schuggie. What a night!

Despite being the last wedding to take place at this unique venue everyone worked had to have a great day. Everyone's highlights were the trips round the yard on the brewery coach that had just returned from a final tour of the pubs in Burton!
Towards the end of October, and a new venue for us, the fabulous Ashes Barns Wedding Venue looked amazing through a day of ever changing weather. A beautifully relaxed wedding based around a hand fasting ceremony coupled with fun and charismatic guests made for a day that will live long in the memory. Including the cows........

With Autumn in full swing we were back at the glorious Shottle Hall to take advantage of the spectacular grounds and the fabulous weather for late October. We had the use of the full site so we were in the hall, the ceremony room, the marquee and the grounds to capture a lovely set of images for them.
For a train geek this was a delight to shoot! A lovely intimate ceremony on the platform followed by two trips up and down the line gave plenty of opportunities for stylish images and a few action shots along the way. I loved the bespoke plaque on the engine that the happy couple were able to take home as a special keepsake.

A very relaxed and intimate wedding at the special Donington Park Farmhouse with the ceremony in the small barn, the reception in the pigsty and the evening in the main barn! We took advantage of the beautiful evening sky to grab some shots in the field across the road.........

After a beautiful wedding service conducted in St Michaels & All Angels we moved to the Holiday Inn for formal photos and a lovely wedding breakfast. We were able to capture some beautiful couple's portraits in the grounds before the disco took everyone into the night!

Hayley & Hugo' s wedding took me back to the amazing Shottle Hall for a fabulous wedding typified by an August day of showers and sunshine. Nothing stopped us having fun and getting some lovely images from a beautiful day.

My first August wedding took me to the gorgeous Makeney Hall for a fun and colourful outdoor wedding. Robyn's hair colour and Tom's unique style defined a relaxed atmosphere and we all had fun into the evening with a Mr & Mrs quiz and wild dancing!

Another new location and the scene of Donna & Matthew's gorgeous wedding day.. Lots of crazy bridesmaids, mad guests and a magician made the day memorable for all!
A new venue for me but it was perfect for Emma & Chris's relaxed wedding. Great suppliers and a fabulous car made for some special images.

Nicola & Colin had a fabulous July wedding. They chose their local church for the service (which happens to be the spectacular Holy Angels!) and then after everyone went back to the house for a awesome reception in a marquee in the grounds. We had so many photo opportunities, so here are just a few. Have a look at the gallery for more.........
Jemma & Jacob chose to get married in their beautiful local church in Etwall. It was small and intimate inside but also had beautiful grounds outside for some lovely photos. Intermittent showers did not affect us in any way and them guests moved to Mickleover for a lovely wedding breakfast reception at the Great Northern. They are a lovely young couple and Jemma is particularly keen on her photography so I knew I had to deliver a fabulous collection of images!
Lucy & Steve were married on a really hot day in July. To keep everyone as cool as possible, guests sheltered under the trees before having their family photos by the lake! It is a lovely venue and we were given permission to go down the road to Rufford Abbey for a couple's walk outside the beautiful ruined buildings as a backdrop.
Alicia & David were married in a beautiful Grade 1 listed church where the west wall dates back to the 1200s and provides a fabulous photography backdrop. Despite being June we worked around the inclement weather take some group and couple images before travelling to the Hilton at St Georges Park. Situated on the edge of the National Forest, this great location is the training ground for all 28 English National football teams. The Bobby Robson suite hosted the wedding breakfast and provided a great space for the evening's dancing and entertainment.

Claire & Mike chose the Walled Gardens for their wedding, and a beautiful sunny day in June rewarded them with a spectacular outdoor wedding location and a garden setting of colour and greenery. With a chance for getting ready shots in the adjoining golf club, a beautiful marquee, the gardens and an outdoor ceremony location the photos are fun and colourful and we all had great fun celebrating!

On a beautiful day in late May Clara & Marc were finally married (we first met in 2020!) in a wedding of colour, stunning locations and much emotion on everyone's part. I joined bridal preparation at Clara's parent's house and took the opportunity of the gardens in full bloom to capture Clara and her bridesmaids before heading to the church. Derek joined Marc & the groomsmen getting ready and then the beautiful Porsche wedding car delivered everyone in style to the parish church in Freehay. After the intimate service the guests headed to the reception while Derek & I joined Clara and Marc with their bridal and groomsmen parties at the stunning Croxden Abbey, the ruins of a 12th century abbey maintained by English Heritage. Following some fun photos with this beautiful backdrop we headed at last to the spectacular Hanbury Wedding Barn for the remainder of the day's festivities. A couples walk as the sun went down brought the photography to a close.

As soon as I met them, I knew John & Salena-Jo's wedding would be special. A fun-loving couple with a great sense of humour who were will to enjoy their day, but not take themselves too seriously, they nevertheless challenged me to get some great images.
The wedding service was held in the truly beautiful Church of the Holy Angels, and Salena-Jo requested the first image below that recreates a photograph we'd seen that captures her as an angel in the aisle. With the grounds of the church and the spectacular Hoar Cross Hall to take the images we captured a mixture of fun and formal images that told the story of a fabulous day.
