Our Blog

I'm Stuart

I am a photographer based in Derbyshire, UK. I've had a passion for photography from an early age, ever since my father bought me a Polaroid camera to document our fun holidays in Scotland. Technology has moved forward a great deal but the objective remains the same - to create something memorable and engaging that can be treasured.

I live with my wife Toni who runs Red Velvet Bakery. (Be sure to check out her link in the "Partners" section from the main menu.) Here cakes are amazing and we often get to work together with great couples!

I love cars, technology and photography (of course!) and together Toni & I have a great love of travel and food.

I've worked in the automotive and aerospace industry but my photography business is now my full time job and it is amazing that I can do something that I really love.

I'd love to work with you on any project you have in mind; my goal is to help you bring your imagination to life.

Second Shooters

We have some great photographers that we work with. They capture candid and fun images to add to our main photography. If you are interested in this as part of your package, we can chat about how this works.

"I had a brilliant experience, not only was Stuart professional, the outcome was brilliant! I had asked for a photoshopped piece as a Christmas gift and it is fabulous! Thank you"

Our Home Location

We are based at 51 Kensington Drive, Hatton, Derbyshire. We would love to work with you, wherever you are based. We are happy to travel to any location to take great images but over a return trip of 50 miles for a photoshoot we will normally charge our travel costs. For weddings we are more flexible!

Our Studio Location

The Portfolio Studio is located within the farm shop and café at the Deer Park, Maker Lane, Hoar Cross, DE13 8QR. From most directions you will approach by the main A515, and then it is about a mile to the building. The post code will bring you close to the building, but do look out for the signs on the road at the entrance as you approach from Maker Lane. When you enter the building by the main entrance, you will find the studio up the stairs on the first floor.
